These beautiful birds have a gentle and sweet feeling about them. Some color variations should be expected. One can often see shades of cream, gray, pink, and brown in the design.

Soapstone, or kisii stone (named for the region where it is found), is a soft, smooth stone. Artisans in Kenya use a wet-sanding technique to carve these sculptures, dye them with natural dyes.
