Inspiration can be found in the most unexpected places sometimes, as was the case with Arinna, named for the Hittite sun goddess. During one of my weekend beading workshops at Industry City, I watched a nine year old making one of my DIY necklace kits in a gold pattern I found so inventive and fun that I decided to try my own version. I loved the idea of juxtaposing the faceted gray labradorite and gold vermeil here, adding antique gold Buddha pendants I previously had used in a green turquoise necklace no longer in production. Kids have the best ideas!
Arinna looks good worn solo, but I also love it layered with the Picasso Pequeño. It’s the perfect gift for someone who likes blue. The Buddha pendant also makes it a wonderful present for those who practice yoga.
